I'm a Vocalist/Musician, Master Teaching Artist, Arts in Education-Enrichment Specialist, Consultant, Trainer and Author.
I create and present TEKS based, fun and educational programs for audiences of all ages. My target audience range is students in Pre-Kindergarten through the 6th grade. I present my programs in public/private and par

I create and present TEKS based, fun and educational programs for audiences of all ages. My target audience range is students in Pre-Kindergarten through the 6th grade. I present my programs in public/private and parochial schools, libraries, recreation centers and other family friendly venues.
I also present special programs for Senior Citizen Communities and Centers.
I have a BA in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Fine Arts. I am a member of NAEYC /TAEYC, TLA, NABS, AARP and SCBWI. I live in North Texas.
All my programs are fun, musical, visual, interactive and memorable. The majority of my programs
and concerts focus on reading and music, with numerous academic elements contained within.
I've been a professional musician/vocalist since the 1970's. First working in Theater troupes/groups (actress/vocalist/guitarist) for USO shows and later on, as a professional vocalist touring Canada, USA, Mexico.
I've been working in the creative field of "KINDER-TAINMENT better known as "Arts in Education" since 2001, with the Dallas based non-profit arts organization BIG THOUGHT, Inc/Dallas Arts Partners , formally known as YOUNG AUDIENCES OF NORTH TEXAS.
I work as a solo artist and/or with my band BOITUMELO/ DEJA VU JAZZ PROJECT for work in the arts in education field.
For work in schools, churches, Senior Communities/Centers, camps and children's festivals, I have security clearance and badges with NAEP/Westat, the DHS/DFW Airport and FC-DALLAS/DISD.
BOITUMELO is a World Music group presenting music from South Africa/Africa, Reggae/Calypso/Caribbean and Children's World Folk music. The BOITUMELO ( which means Happiness in Tswana) has been together for 22 years...and still going strong.

BOITUMELO is a World Music group presenting music from South Africa/Africa, Reggae/Calypso/Caribbean and Children's World Folk music. The BOITUMELO ( which means Happiness in Tswana) has been together for 22 years...and still going strong.
We have performed at the Texas Book Festival, The State Fair of Texas, almost every public library in north Texas, all the elementary schools in the Dallas Independent School district.....these are but a few of the family friendly concerts we present each year.
DEJA VU JAZZ PROJECT is a band ranging from a quartet format, up to an 8 piece group that focuses on retro: Jazz, R&B/Soul , Folk and Rock -n-Roll.
DEJA VU JAZZ PROJECT performs in a variety of venues including colleges/universities, private parties, corporate events, fairs/festivals...just to name a few..

This is a 90 minutes program or a 6 weeks residency

Students in 1st and/or 2nd grades, will explore the concepts of Urban Planning and careers in Architecture in this
"hands on" five weeks residency.
Participants will listen to a story about a boy who wants to be an architect.
Learn the three categories of communities where people live.
Imagine, Create, Color, cut out, form and name their community/city.
Exhibit their planned community.
View photos and maps of local Urban, Suburban and Rural areas.
Lessons include reading, team work and arts and crafts
